Oasis Scholarship: Oasis Scholarship Portal is a one-stop online scholarship portal for all scholarships available for SC, ST and OBC categories of students. Run by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of West Bengal, this portal lists both pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for students who are residents of this state. Oasis Scholarship – Eligibility
One of the key qualifications that students need to meet in order to receive these scholarships is to be a permanent resident of the state or hold its domicile. Apart from this, there are many other criteria that students need to fulfil, which are mentioned here.

Pre-matric scholarship for SC students | One should be a student of classes 9th and 10th and belong to the SC category. The family/guardian income should not be more than INR 2 Lakh per annum from all sources. |
Pre-matric scholarship for ST students | A student must belong to the ST category. Students of classes 9th and 10th are eligible to apply. The annual family/guardian income should not be more than INR 2 Lakh from all sources. |
Post-matric scholarship for SC/ST students | The applicant should be studying at the post-secondary or post-matriculation level and belong to SC/ST category. The annual income of parents/guardians should not be more than INR 2.5 Lakh from all sources. |
Post-matric scholarship for OBC students | The applicant should be studying at the post-secondary level and belong to the OBC category. The annual income of the family/guardian from all sources should not be more than INR 1 Lakh |
Note: All the above-given scholarships are applicable only to students who have a domicile in West Bengal.
Oasis Scholarship – Award
The rewards that students receive through the Oasis Scholarship are variable and mainly depend on the class in which they are currently studying. Of course, their educational qualification and financial need play an important role in the selection process. However, the amount of scholarship they receive varies from class to class. Below is a detailed structure of scholarship awards that applicants can win through the Oasis Scholarship.
This Scholarship started on 10th May 2022 and ended on 31st October 2022. The scholarship amount is disbursed only when the applications of the students are successfully verified by the PO or DWO.

Oasis Scholarship – Application Process
What are the steps to be followed to apply through Oasis Scholarship Portal? Whatever scholarship students wish to apply for, find step-by-step details of the application process here.

Register with Oasis Scholarship
- Go to the official website.
- Then click on “Student Registration” in the student’s corner.
- Select the district where the institution is based.
- A page for verification of the caste certificates will appear. Fill in all the details and click on submit.
- After the caste certificate is verified, candidates will be directed to the online registration page. Then fill in all the mandatory fields and click on submit.
Oasis login to complete the application
- Once the candidates are successfully registered, they can download their Permanent User ID / Application Number and Password through the button “Download Login Information / Acknowledgment Slip”.
- Then click on the “Login Now” button using the Application Number / User ID and Password.
- Hence once logged in, they have to fill in their further details and bank information carefully and click on the ‘Save and Proceed’ tab.
Verification and Locking of the Oasis Application
Once the candidates have filled all their information in the application form, they can lock all the information filled by clicking on the “Verify & Lock” button.
Note: Once the candidates have locked in the filled information, they cannot make any further changes. Then, make sure to enter the correct information in the application form.
Print the Application
After successfully locking the application form, click on the “Download Application Form” button to get the computer-generated copy of the filled application form.
Submission of Printed Application
Submit the printed copy of the duly filled application form along with copies of all supporting documents to the concerned BDO (Block Development Officer) of the block area or the PO cum DWO of the Municipal Corporation.

The documents to be submitted are –
- Recent stamp size photo
- Attested copy of caste certificate/acknowledgement slip
- Attested copy of mark sheets and certificates of the previous examination passed
The application process for SC students
It is mandatory for the Scheduled Caste (SC) students to first complete this additional step and then navigate towards the Oasis Scholarship Portal.
- Register on the National Scholarship Portal
- Go to the official website.
- Click on ‘New Registration’.
- Click on Register for Pre-Matric or Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme to get a Unique ID for SC students only.
- Read the registration guidelines, check the box and click ‘Continue’.
