How to Check NSP Scholarship Status Updated: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) 2022 is a digital scholarship platform that provides a number of scholarships offered by various government agencies such as the Central Government, State Governments, and UGC (University Grants Commission). The National Scholarship Portal hosts around 104 scholarship schemes worth hundreds of crores of rupees for the scholarship seekers registered on the platform. Introduced as the Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), the National Scholarship Portal emerges as one of the most prominent scholarship portals that offer a variety of services ranging from student scholarship application to the disbursal of scholarships to them. Offering a SMART (Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive & Transparent) system for effective and faster disposal of scholarships, the portal ensures direct delivery of funds to the beneficiary’s account thereby avoiding any chances of leakage.

NSP Scholarship – Central Schemes
Under the ‘Central Schemes’ section on NSP, students can find scholarships offered by departments like the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and others. The applications for all these central schemes usually start in the month of July/August and continue till the month of December/January. The last date of application for Central Schemes on NSP for the academic year 2022-23 is 30 September 2022. Although in some cases it has been extended till 31 October 2022.

NSP Scholarship – UGC / AICTE Schemes
Apart from the central schemes, the NSP portal also lists the scholarships offered by the University Grants Commission and All India Council for Technical Education under the section ‘UGC/AICTE Schemes’. The main objective of these scholarships is to support the college education of students at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. And both UGC and AICTE are statutory bodies of MHRD (now Ministry of Education), Government of India. The applications for these scholarships also start in the month of August and continue till October/November.

How to Check NSP Scholarship Status Updated- State Schemes
The NSP portal also lists the scholarships offered by various state governments under the ‘State Schemes’ section. These scholarships include both centrally-sponsored and state-sponsored scholarships. While Centrally Sponsored Scholarships are offered by the Central Government and implemented by various States/UTs, State Sponsored Schemes are both offered and implemented by the State Government. Major States/UTs hosting the scholarship on NSP include Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Tripura, and Uttarakhand.

Important: अंतिम रूप से जमा करने के बाद छात्रवृत्ति फॉर्म में दर्ज किसी भी विवरण को संपादित नहीं किया जा सकता है। इस प्रकार, आपको यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहिए कि आप आवेदन पत्र में सही जानकारी दर्ज करें। जानकारी में किसी भी तरह की विसंगति के कारण आवेदन अस्वीकृत हो सकता है।
NSP Scholarship – Required Documents
The documents required may differ for each NSP scholarship. However, some of the key documents that you must keep handy for making a successful application include –
- Educational Documents
- Aadhar Card
- Bank Passbook
- Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Income Certificate (if applicable)
- Bonafide Certificate from School/Institute (as applicable)
These documents need to be uploaded only for scholarship amounts above INR 50,000. However, for scholarship amount less than INR 50,000, students need to submit these documents to their respective school/institute/college.
NSP Scholarship – Status
NSP Status is one of the key features that the portal provides to its users. So under this facility, students are allowed to check their scholarship application status online through the portal itself. To track the status of your application you need to follow the steps given below –
- Visit the official website of NSP.
- Click on the ‘Login’ button and select the year (Fresh or Renewal).
- Log in using your Application ID and Password.
- Click on the ‘Check Your Status’ button in the User Dashboard.
- The actual status of your application will appear on the screen.
