NSP Portal Renewal 2022-23: National Scholarship Portal is an online portal for the application, processing, verification and sanction of government scholarships to students by the Government of India. It aims to reduce discrepancies and provide a common, effective and transparent method for disbursing scholarships to students. In other words, National Scholarship Portal is a one-stop solution through which various services starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursement of various scholarships to students are enabled. And the National Scholarship Portal has been taken up as a mission-mode project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

National Scholarship Portal is a one-stop solution through which various services are enabled starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursement of various scholarships to the students.
The objective of this initiative is to provide a simple, mission-oriented, accountable, responsive and transparent ‘SMART’ system for fast and effective disposal of scholarship applications and delivery of funds directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts without any leakage.

The Mission Mode Project (MMP) of the National Scholarship Portal under the National e-Governance Plan aims to provide a common electronic portal for implementing various scholarship schemes launched by the Central Government, State Government and Union Territories across the country.

NSP Portal Renewal 2022-23
National Scholarship Portal renewal is a process through which students who have already availed benefits under the scholarships listed on the National Scholarship Portal can renew them for the coming years of study. The process of NSP renewal application is largely similar to that of fresh applications. Students are only required to fulfil the renewal conditions specified in the respective scholarship guidelines.
So every year, the Government of India announces around 80 scholarships for students from across the country to support their studies at both pre-matric and post-matric levels. And more than 110 lakh students apply for these scholarships, some of whom are fresh applicants while others are renewal applicants.

Every year, the Government of India invites students to apply for new scholarships and scholarship renewals through the National Scholarship Portal to meet the needs of students at different levels of education. Whether you are studying at the school level or college level, you can find scholarships for your academic needs on the portal. These scholarships are meant to help students coming from different sections of society including SC, ST, OBC and minority communities. NSP Portal Renewal 2022-23- Step-wise Renewal Application
As already stated, the NSP renewal process is exactly the same as for fresh applications. For the academic year 2020-21, renewal applications started right after the new applications were announced. Students meeting the renewal conditions for the scholarship can follow the steps given below to apply for renewal.
- Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal.
- Under the ‘Login’ button, a drop-down list will appear that displays the ‘Fresh’ and ‘Renewal’ options for the subsequent academic years.
- Select the ‘Renewal’ option for the academic year for which you wish to apply.
- A login page will open. Enter your Application ID (same as last year’s Registration ID), Password and Captcha to log in successfully.
- After successful login, proceed to apply for renewal by filling in all the required details (as specified).
- Upload all supporting documents.
- Finally, submit the application.

Key Points to Remember: NSP Portal Renewal 2022-23
While moving towards the NSP renewal process, you should keep the following important points in mind –
- Make sure you retain your Application ID (of the new application) with you as it will be required at the time of renewal.
- In case you forget your Application ID, you can click ‘Forgot Application ID?’ on the login page. You can retrieve it by using the button. You will need to enter the Bank Account Number entered at the time of registration to retrieve the Application ID.
- In case you forget the password of your previous year’s registration, you can retrieve it using the ‘Recover Password’ button on the login page.
- Also, if you want to update the already registered mobile number, you can click ‘Update mobile number?’ on the login page. You can do this by using the button. Please note, you will be allowed to update your mobile number only once.
- You have to provide some details to update your mobile number. Once you have updated your mobile number, you cannot change it again.
- Students who are eligible for renewal need not apply under the new category as this will result in duplicate applications, which will be rejected.
- Also, if a student wants to apply for a new scholarship, he/she has to withdraw his/her renewal application to avoid rejection.
- If you have completed the course for which the scholarship is being disbursed, you cannot apply for its renewal.

Income Certificate: An income certificate issues by the competent authority in the State/Union Territory Government required (mandatory).
Is a genuine certificate mandatory for NSP renewal?
The student must also upload the genuine student certificate from the institute/school along with his/her application form.
